BEHIND

I'm Edwin, French dude that is currently based in Stockholm, Sweden. I decided to create this platform first of all to make contacts within the music business and then to share my vision of a cool community of musicians and inspiring music creators.

I'm curious about many different arts: paintings, digital arts, surrealism, mixing and mastering techniques, music gears, analog gears, guitar pedals, and so many other things. I could talk nerdy music stuff forever—and it's only getting worse (or better) with time!

My music journey started with my Indie rock / Garage rock – Widen, that I am still very proud of now. That is where the name Widen Island came from, of course. This is my Island, I want to build it my way, make it unique. I want ideas to flourish in both my mind and yours. If someone can get something out of my music—maybe a smile, a sense of relaxation, or something from my blog articles about lofi music and bedroom pop—well, I'd be really happy.

I actually started playing folk guitar and making silly songs with easy chords like C, G, F, and D. I was blown away by the fact that you could create anything you wanted, all you needed was imagination. It's still fascinating to me, especially when often the best songs are the easiest ones ever!
