Widen Island is an independent lofi label based in Stockholm, Sweden, dedicated to discovering, releasing, and promoting the best in lofi hip-hop, jazzy beats, and bedroom pop. Founded in early 2021 by Edwin, a passionate lofi producer, the label started as a blog focused on uncovering talented producers, sharing tips, and exploring the global lofi community.

"Widen Island began as a place for me to find talented lofi artists, ask for tips, do interviews, and explore production tricks," says Edwin. "Over time, it grew into a full-fledged lofi music label, signing artists, collaborating on tracks, releasing seasonal cassette compilations, running creative competitions, and welcoming everyone in a productive, chill, and jazzy environment."

Originally launched as Widen Island Records, the label initially released tracks under its own name "Widen Island". Today, the rebranded Widen Island label reflects its evolution as a modern indie label. With releases spanning dusty lofi beats, jazzy lofi beats, Chillhop, bedroom pop, and boom bap beats, Widen Island has built a growing catalog of standout tracks from producers worldwide.

Through partnerships with distributors like DashGo in Los Angeles, California, Widen Island has brought its unique sound to a global audience. "We're so stoked about our journey so far," Edwin adds. "For a small Swedish label, it's amazing to share incredible lofi artists with listeners around the world, and we hope to continue growing and connecting with even more music lovers."
